Virat Kohli-Ajinkya Rahane Break Sachin Tendulkar-Sourav Ganguly's Record
The Indian captain Virat Kohli and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane have gone pass the record of former legendary batsmen - Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly. Kohli and Rahane added 100-runs partnership for the fourth wicket in the ongoing first Test match against West Indies. This was the pair's eighth hundred run alliance for the fourth wicket - which is the most for any Indian dual.
On the other hand, Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly had added seven hundred stands for the fourth wicket in the Test fold. Meanwhile, Kohli who had a rare failure in the first innings of the Test match was able to score a fine fifty. India has put their noses in front.
Consequently, the visitors have put their noses in front as they currently lead by 260 runs. Kohli and Rahane have added 104 runs from 247 balls for the fourth wicket and both the batsmen are looking good for more.
In fact, India was in a spot of bother when both of these batsmen united at the crease. Kohli and Rahane showed their experience and have put India in the commanding position.
On the other hand, India had posted a competitive score of 297 runs in the first essay after West Indies skipper Jason Holder won the toss and decided to bowl first. Subsequently, the Indian bowlers were able to deliver the goods. The veteran fast bowler Ishant Sharma was the wrecker in chief as the lanky pacer took a five-wicket haul. Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja were able to scalp two wickets apiece whereas Jasprit BUmrah took one wicket.
Both Rahane and Kohli will like to consolidate on the current position and build India's lead.
