What we are all about-

Ocean School is a REEF and YEPT Ocean Conservation Alliance which works in the beautiful Lakshadweep islands towards understanding biological diversity and working towards its conservation. We work towards building a Citizen Scientists community for the ocean and it’s eco systems. We assist in career guidance in marine biology, Oceanography, Scientific Research and Marine Research as a career through our experiences at our outdoors school.

Volunteer Tourists will assist with Ocean School team daily activities at the Islands base, like boat trips to Islands conservation study, tree planting, travelling, desk work and blogging. Those with a background in science are welcome to work with our board of scientists at the research station, collecting and analyzing data. All experiences have a paid for option, cost to cost as we are a non profit organization.

 Details -Duration: 1week to 1 month minimum on availability and full payment on booking. Requirements/eligibility: Ages 18+; Minors to be accompanied by Parents, Teachers or guardians, previous experience working on similar projects not required.

Facilities available: Food , transfers, sightseeing and accommodation packages are available at a cost for the facilities opted for per day in various categories, for various Islands and duration of Volunteering dates. Any personal expenditures, additional sightseeing programmes and scuba certification dives will be at the Islands rates.

Our planet Earth needs a voice and action due to Global warming. Volunteering is known to increase happiness. Studies have also shown that volunteering can cause an increase in self-esteem and self growth for those volunteering as well as those for whom people volunteer."
