The government has introduced a new aviation initiative aimed at making air travel more predictable and affordable, with the launch of fixed-fare flights on select regional routes.

Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu on Tuesday (17 March) flagged off the inaugural flight connecting Rewa in Madhya Pradesh with Raipur in Chhattisgarh, marking the start of the 'Fare Se Fursat - One Route One Fare' scheme.

Announcing the initiative, the minister wrote on X, "Driven by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi Ji's vision to make aviation more inclusive and affordable, today flagged off a historic flight connecting Rewa to Raipur. It marked the momentous launch of the 'Fare Se Fursat - One Route One Fare' scheme on six routes of Alliance Air."

Under the scheme, a fixed airfare will apply across selected routes regardless of the booking date or travel period, offering passengers greater pricing certainty.

"Under this initiative, fixed fares will be offered across routes including Delhi-Rewa, Rewa-Raipur, Delhi-Jaipur, Kolkata-Guwahati, Tirupati-Rajahmundry and Chennai-Hyderabad. Passengers will be able to book any seat at a fixed fare, irrespective of the date of booking or travel."

The minister also acknowledged the support provided by the Madhya Pradesh government for strengthening regional connectivity.

"I express my sincere appreciation to Hon'ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Shri @DrMohanYadav51 Ji and Deputy Chief Minister Shri @rshuklabjp Ji for the VGF support in connecting Rewa to Raipur."

The initiative forms part of the government's broader push to improve passenger experience and expand access to air travel.

"Aligned with the vision of enhancing ease of flying, initiatives such as 'UDAN Yatri Cafe' offering affordable refreshments and 'Fare Se Fursat' ensuring predictable airfares are being undertaken to make air travel more convenient and dignified for all."

During the event, new barracks for CISF personnel were also inaugurated at Khajuraho Airport.
