Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to fast-track transport and infrastructure preparations ahead of the opening of the Noida International Airport at Jewar, with a major focus on electric mobility.

At a review meeting of the State Transformation Commission on Wednesday (27 May), the Chief Minister instructed authorities to deploy 110 electric buses in the first phase to improve connectivity across Noida, Greater Noida and the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region before commercial flight operations begin.

He also asked departments to complete all public transport arrangements by 15 June. The state government is simultaneously accelerating the rollout of electric vehicle infrastructure.

Officials informed the meeting that Uttar Pradesh currently has nearly 15.5 lakh registered electric vehicles, while around 2,500 charging stations are operational.

The state has set a target of establishing 10,000 EV charging stations by 2030. Infrastructure projects linked to industrial growth and logistics also figured prominently during the review.

The Chief Minister instructed officials to speed up land acquisition for several expressway projects, including the Agra-Lucknow-Purvanchal Link Expressway, Jewar Link Expressway and Jhansi Link Expressway, with a deadline set for the end of June.

The alignment for the Meerut-Haridwar Expressway has already been approved.

The meeting also reviewed progress on major logistics and industrial projects, including the Multi-Modal Logistic Hub, Defence Corridor investments and the proposed agriculture export hub near Jewar airport.

Officials said over 300 hectares of land have already been secured for the logistics hub project.

Adityanath stressed that delays in investment-related projects would not be tolerated and directed departments to maintain regular coordination with investors.

He also announced that a dedicated monitoring cell would be established in the Chief Minister's Office to oversee priority projects under the "CM Review" mechanism.
