The Jammu and Kashmir administration has announced that two major infrastructure projects on National Highway-44-the 810 metre Ramsoo Viaduct in Ramban district and the 3.5 km AT-03 Tunnel linking Digdole and Panthyal will be opened to traffic on 3 July.
Both structures have been designed to bypass landslide-prone sections of NH-44, a stretch that has frequently witnessed traffic disruptions due to adverse weather and unstable terrain.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Union Minister of State Dr Jitendra Singh welcomed the completion of the projects and credited the Centre's continued investment in road infrastructure for accelerating connectivity across Jammu and Kashmir.
"Heartfelt gratitude to Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji and Hon'ble Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari Ji for transforming J&K's highways and road connectivity. The completion of 810m long Viaduct near Ramsoo in Ramban district and 3.5-km AT-03 Tunnel connecting Digdole to Panthyal on NH-44 is yet another monumental feat.
These key infrastructures secure smooth and all-weather movement for locals, tourists, freight and security forces, while ensuring a safer and seamless journey for the pilgrims of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2026, bypassing landslide-prone stretches," the Lieutenant Governor said.
