Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has directed officials to urgently complete the remaining land acquisition for the proposed Nanded-Jalna Expressway, a key project designed to connect the Hindu Hruday Samrat Balasaheb Thackeray Maharashtra Samruddhi Mahamarg with Marathwada districts.

The instructions were issued during a high-level review meeting at Mantralaya focused on pending acquisition matters in Parbhani district, one of the crucial stretches on the route.

Minister of State Meghna Sakore Bordikar, senior bureaucrats and officials from the revenue, public works and water conservation departments were also present.

During the meeting, Bawankule reviewed progress package-wise and sought immediate action where delays continue.

Officials informed the minister that acquisition orders for Package 5 in Parbhani district have already been issued, but physical possession of the required land is still pending.

He instructed the administration to complete the handover process within the next seven days so construction activity can move ahead without further delay.

The minister was also briefed on Package 3 in Selu taluka, where acquisition had earlier been stalled after a High Court stay. With the legal restriction now lifted, district authorities said the process has restarted and is expected to be completed by 10 June.

Bawankule emphasised that infrastructure projects of strategic importance should not be slowed by avoidable procedural bottlenecks and asked officials to maintain close coordination with affected landholders.
