Hyderabad: With just two days remaining before the closure of the property tax payment window on March 31, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has released the names of six top defaulters whose tax dues have been pending for several years.
The GHMC authorities took the step of publicly identifying these major defaulters as part of efforts to recover outstanding property tax revenues. The move comes as the civic body intensifies its drive to collect pending property tax dues ahead of the approaching deadline.
The names mentioned include Sri Lakshmi Gayathri Hotels (Rs 6.16 crore), Aurora College, Nampally (Rs 1.28 crore), Goshamahal Sarna Transport (Rs 43.78 lakh), Sony Centre, Goshamahal (Rs 39.68 lakh), Shameem Sulthana Cloth Mall (Rs 35.27 lakh) and Synfosys Business Solutions (Rs 17.94 lakh).
GHMC commissioner RV Karnan advised property owners to pay property tax dues online through the www.ghmc.gov.in portal, MyCURE app, Mee Seva centres, and Citizen Service Centres to take advantage of the One-Time Scheme (OTS) opportunity.
