Hyderabad: Himanshu Jain had an outstanding day as he lifted the senior billiards title with a comfortable 4-1 win over Khizar Raoof and also made it to the quarterfinals of the senior snooker event thrashing Nazeeruddin 4-0, at the State Billiards and Snooker championship at the Film Nagar Cultural Centre on Monday.
Himanshu took a two-frame lead with ease before Raoof pulled one back in the third frame of the billiards final. But Himanshu got his act together to win the next two to seal the title.
In the snooker pre-quarterfinals, Himanshu recorded a century break (110 in third frame) and three 50-plus breaks in the match against Nazeeruddin to record an easy win to enter quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, K Vibhas defeated Azhi 3-1 while Joel got the better of Zohail with identical score to enter last four. Mushatq downed Sumair 3-1 to join them in the semifinals.
