An Air India flight carrying around 250 passengers was diverted to Jaipur International Airport on the morning of October 14 after a security alert triggered emergency aviation protocols.
Flight AI-2030 was approaching Indian airspace when the pilot briefly transmitted the Squawk 7500 code, an internationally recognized signal indicating possible unlawful interference, including a suspected hijacking. The alert prompted authorities to immediately divert the aircraft to Jaipur, where it landed safely at around 9:45 a.m.
Soon after landing, all passengers and crew members were safely evacuated and moved to a secure holding area. Security personnel, including CISF teams, local police, and bomb disposal squads, launched a thorough inspection of the aircraft, which was isolated as a precaution.
Officials said no injuries have been reported, and no suspicious objects have been found so far. The exact reason behind the security alert remains under investigation, with authorities working to determine whether it was caused by a hijacking rumor, a bomb threat, or another security-related issue.
The incident briefly disrupted airport operations but highlighted the swift response of aviation authorities, who followed standard safety procedures to ensure the well-being of everyone on board.
