The Andhra Pradesh Government has announced a Special Teacher Eligibility Test (Special TET) exclusively for in-service teachers, offering them an opportunity to fulfil the mandatory TET qualification and continue their teaching careers with confidence.
Making the announcement, Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education and IT Nara Lokesh said the initiative is aimed at supporting serving teachers by helping them meet the required eligibility criteria. He encouraged all eligible teachers to make the most of the opportunity and prepare well for the examination through mock tests.
According to the schedule, the official notification for the Special TET was released on August 24, 2026. The online application process will begin on August 25 and continue until September 24, 2026. The examination will be conducted from October 11 to October 21, 2026.
The government believes the Special TET will strengthen the quality of education by ensuring that in-service teachers receive the necessary qualifications while continuing to serve in schools across Andhra Pradesh. Eligible candidates have been advised to carefully read the detailed notification and follow the prescribed guidelines before submitting their applications.
