BorderPlus is building a recruitment platform that trains blue-collar workers like nurses and places them with overseas employers. Candidates are selected not only from India but also from the Philippines and Brazil and offered work in Germany, Saudi Arabia and other economies facing staffing shortages in specific fields.
upGrad co-founder Mayank Kumar and former Oyo European head Ayush Mathur started BorderPlus in Mumbai in late 2024. The team raised $7 million in Series A funding from Owl Ventures and angel investors Binny Bansal, Ritesh Agarwal and Mithun Sancheti, among others, in 2025. The company runs six training centres across Pune, Bengaluru, Kochi, Noida, Chennai and Hyderabad, a centre in Brazil and a partner-led location in the Philippines. To date, BorderPlus has placed 331 nurses and is now managing 40 to 50 placements a month. It operates at a monthly run rate of Rs about 5 crore, which equates to Rs 60 crore annually.
