Dibrugarh, May 27: A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Dibrugarh University (DU) and Miranda House, University of Delhi, on Monday, in the presence of DU vice chancellor Prof Jiten Hazarika.
The agreement seeks to promote academic and interdisciplinary collaborative research, internship programmes, and international collaboration.
Meanwhile, in another development, an awareness and counselling programme on skill-based education was organised here on Sunday by the Skill Education and Entrepreneurship Development (SEED) Foundation in collaboration with the Assam Skill University at the Don Bosco Higher Secondary School here.
The programme witnessed the presence of several educators, including Dr Himadri Barman, professor of Management Studies; Moniruddin Ahmed, retired joint director of fisheries, Assam; Chinmoy Hazarika, deputy vice president, Bandhan Bank; Dhirendranath Das, city project manager, National Urban Livelihood Mission; Rupam Chetia Bora, professor, Assam Skill University; and Dr Lenin Gogoi, assistant professor, Dibru College.
Nazib Ahmed, project manager of the SEED Foundation, delivered the welcome address, while the agenda of the programme was presented by Aminul Hussain, chairperson of the SEED Foundation.
The resource persons delivered insightful presentations with the aid of PowerPoint slides, delving deep into the topics of skill education, entrepreneurship opportunities, career-oriented courses, and emerging employment prospects across various sectors. Their inputs proved highly beneficial to students from several institutions, including those from the Don Bosco Higher Secondary School and the local Salt Brook Academy.
The programme sought to create meaningful awareness among students regarding the importance of vocational education and the wide-ranging career pathways available through skill-based learning.
