Residents reported multiple gas cylinder explosions that intensified the inferno and damaged nearby parked vehicles. The fire reportedly started in a warehouse structure constructed of tin sheets and bamboo on an open plot. The intensity of the heat caused several LPG cylinders to explode, a sound that eyewitnesses say "triggered instant terror" throughout the locality.

"We heard three to four loud blasts, and suddenly the smoke turned pitch black. We didn't wait for instructions; we just grabbed our essentials and ran," shared a local resident. MBMC Chief Fire Officer Prakash Borade stated that while the immediate priority was containment and cooling operations, a thorough investigation into the cause suspected to be a short circuit and the legality of the structure is underway.
