Airtel Thanks EV Wallet Recharge service has been announced by Airtel Payments Bank and here's how it works.

Airtel Payments Bank has introduced a new Electric Vehicle (EV) wallet recharge service in the Airtel Thanks App in partnership with NPCI Bharat BillPay Limited.

The Airtel Thanks EV Wallet Recharge service, announced in New Delhi on 17 December 2025, uses the Bharat Connect platform to enable customers to recharge the wallets of EV Charging Point Operators (CPO) directly from the app.

Until now, EV owners had to use separate wallets within individual CPO apps such as the Tata Power EZ Charge. With the new partnership, Airtel Payments Bank users can recharge their EV wallets using a single interface, making the process simple and eliminating the need to switch between multiple apps. The feature also ensures instant updates regarding the linked wallet's balance, offering a simple, nationwide payment experience for EV charging.

The feature can be accessed by customers on the Airtel Thanks app. Customers need to log in to the app and go to the "Pay Bills" section. From there, they select the "Recharge EV" option, enter the mobile number registered with their CPO wallet, enter the recharge amount, and confirm the payment through the Bharat Connect platform in the app.

Once completed, the recharge amount will instantly reflect in the customer's wallet, allowing immediate access to charging EV funds.

The service is available to all Airtel Thanks app users linked to the Airtel Payments Bank, and is aimed at offering convenience and speed for EV owners across the country. Airtel Payments Bank said the service aligns with the government's 'Digital India' and 'Financial Inclusion' initiatives by using its over five lakh active banking points to provide accessible banking and payments services.

Commenting on the partnership, Ganesh Ananthanarayanan, Executive Director of Business Operations at Airtel Payments Bank, said the bank will continue to build "digital-first solutions that enhance everyday customer experiences."
