Amazon is rolling out Personality Styles for Alexa+ so users can choose from four new options and tailor Alexa's tone to their preferences.

Amazon is launching four new Personality Styles for Alexa+ including Brief, Chill, Sweet, Sassy, so you can tinker around with Alexa's tone without changing her capabilities. "Customers can tailor Alexa's tone and response style to fit their personal preferences," said Amazon.

Personality Styles for Alexa+ are essentially distinct ways to customise how Alexa responds to your questions and requests, making the Alexa+ experience more tailored. "We're starting with four different styles: Brief, Chill, Sweet, and Sassy. It's the same capable Alexa customers know and love, just with a communication style that fits your preferences," said Amazon in a blog post.

Here's how you can expect the four personality styles to sound:

• "Brief is our answer to customer requests for shorter, more direct responses. This style cuts straight to the point with no-nonsense efficiency-no small talk, no extra conversation. Just the information you need, exactly when you need it.
• Chill brings an easygoing and relaxed energy to every interaction. Like chatting with a laid-back friend, this style keeps interactions conversational and breezy, offering gentle guidance.
• Sweet is your biggest cheerleader, responding with genuine warmth and enthusiasm. This uplifting personality celebrates your wins, offers encouragement, and transforms everyday moments into opportunities for positivity.
• Sassy brings unfiltered personality with razor-sharp wit, playful sarcasm, and occasional censored profanity-you asked for it, and we're delivering it. For those who appreciate humor with an edge, this style delivers entertaining banter and clever comebacks that keep things interesting. This personality style is not available when Amazon Kids is enabled and requires additional security checks in the Alexa App in order to be activated."

As you might have noticed, Alexa+ can now swear similar to how xAI's Grok does. Amazon adds that "each style is built on a foundation of five interconnected dimensions that work together to create different conversational experiences:

• Humor: subtle wit to overt sarcasm
• Expressiveness: ranging from concise to verbose
• Emotional Openness: reserved to enthusiastic
• Formality: professional to casual
• Directness: diplomatic to blunt

For instance, the same answer to "What's the weather?" might be brief and efficient in one style or delivered with a playful twist in another.

To try the new personality styles, say, "Alexa, change your personality style" to your Echo device or choose one in the Alexa app by selecting your device, then Device Settings, then Alexa's Personality Style and swiping through the different options.

You can switch anytime or return to the original Alexa whenever you want just by asking or through the app. Personality styles are device-specific, so you'll need to set them up for each of the devices you'd like to change.
