Google is rolling out two new updates for its browser, where users now get an immersive Reading Mode and Vertical Tabs in Chrome for Desktop.

As per Google, the "two new features designed to streamline your browser and help you maximize productivity in Chrome." Here's everything to know about the features.

You now have the option to use vertical tabs in Chrome for desktop, depending on your preferences. To use the new vertical tabs, right click on any Chrome window and select "Show Tabs Vertically." This layout is designed for better multitasking, "saving you time by making sure you never lose a tab."

Reading mode in Chrome for desktop is being updated with a new full-page interface. Right-click on any page and select "Open in reading mode" to remove "visual distractions and transform a busy webpage into an immersive, text-focused reading experience."

Back in February, Google debuted Save to Drive, PDF Annotations and Split View features in Chrome. PDF annotations allow you to highlight text and add notes to a PDF from within the Chrome Browser. This eliminates the need to download the file and open a separate application just to make a quick note. This feature is apt for quick digital signatures, reviewing a work report, making notes on a class syllabus or simply highlighting a key section of a personal document.

As for Split View, it allows you to view two tabs at the same time, "providing a more streamlined, flexible way to work." Split view is a built-in, intuitive tool in Chrome that helps you create a single, organized space, saving you time and reducing some back-and-forth tab fatigue, as per the company.
