Nothing OS 5.0 announcement is set for next week and here's what you can expect from the update.
UK-based hardware company Nothing has confirmed the Nothing OS 5.0 announcement date for August 25. The upcoming version of Nothing OS 5.0 is expected to be based on Android 17 and could bring a host of new AI features, customisation options, a refreshed user interface, and more.

Nothing OS 5.0 should also introduce a refreshed user interface that looks more modern. This speculation is on the basis of a Nothing Gallery App update last month that was based on Nothing OS 5.0's design language. It brought live blur behind the navigation bar, updated icons, a new font, and more.
As for the list of supported devices, all CMF Phones and Nothing phones should get Nothing OS 5.0, except Nothing Phone (1), Phone (2), and CMF Phone 1, as these devices have reached their end of life as per their respective software update policy.
The company did announce a community review program last week and stated it's for a software release. Most expect it to be Nothing OS 5.0 closed beta program for the Nothing Phone (3), considering the requirements to join the program explicitly mention that the user should have a Nothing Phone (3).
In related news to the brand, it was leaked that Nothing is planning to reposition itself as an AI-first company, with a new lineup of AI-powered audio and wearable devices expected to lead the transition. The report suggests that the shift will happen in phases rather than all at once, with the first stage of the company's AI-focused roadmap likely to begin in September.
