Pulwama (J&K): In a significant outreach initiative aimed at strengthening community relations and providing essential healthcare services, the Central Reserve Police Force under its civic action programme organised a free medical camp in Kharchak village of Pulwama district.
The camp, conducted by the 185 Battalion of CRPF under the banner of "Madadgar," witnessed active participation from local residents, with nearly 150 people availing free medical consultation, treatment, and medicines. The initiative catered to individuals across various age groups and addressed a wide range of health concerns, providing much-needed relief to villagers who often face limited access to healthcare facilities.
Officials and medical staff from the CRPF were seen attending to patients with care and professionalism, ensuring that each visitor received proper diagnosis and medication. The camp also served as a platform for raising awareness about basic health practices and preventive care among the rural population.
Residents of Kharchak village expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as both timely and beneficial. Many locals highlighted that such camps play a crucial role in bridging healthcare gaps, especially in remote areas. Villagers who attended the camp said the effort by the CRPF was commendable and reflected a positive step towards community welfare.
The initiative has been widely welcomed and is being seen as a constructive move in fostering trust and cooperation between security forces and the local population. Locals noted that these humanitarian efforts go a long way in building stronger bonds and promoting goodwill.
The CRPF has been actively conducting similar programmes across Jammu and Kashmir, focusing on healthcare, education, and community engagement as part of its broader civic action strategy.
