Karuppu, was released in theatres worldwide on 14th May, 2026. Directed by RJ Balaji of 'Veetla Visheshan' fame, the film had significant pre-release buzz. But due to a pending settlement with the financiers, multiple showings of the film were cancelled. Now, the makers are working to resolve the issues.

Karuppu's main cast includes Suriya, Trisha Krishnan and RJ Balaji. While Indrans, Yogi Babu, Sshivada, Swatika Vijay and Mansoor Ali Khan have joined as supporting cast members. The film marks the long awaited reunion of lead stars Suriya and Trisha Krishnan after 25 years, who previously appeared together in 2004's 'Aaru'.

Karuppu Movie: Plot

Karuppu revolves around Sarvanan, a lawyer who becomes possessed by a deity and starts to battle the injustice affecting marginalised communities. Trisha plays the role of fellow lawyer Preethi, while RJ Balaji's character Baby Kannan is the main antagonist. Some reports have suggested that the movie's plot is inspired by the Tamil folklore about Karuppaswamy.
