Shah Rukh Khan starrer King is one of the most anticipated films of 2026. And makers of the film just confirmed the official release date of the film via a special teaser uploaded on Instagram.
The Big Reveal: King's Release Date
Directed by Fighter fame Siddharth Anand, King is all set to release on 24th December this year. Taking to Instagram, Red Chillies Productions uploaded a special teaser that concluded with the reveal of the film's official release date.
"A ROAR loud enough to shake the KINGdom. #KING arriving on 24.12.2026. #ItsKINGTime.” The production house captioned the teaser video. The film was announced last year on star Shah Rukh Khan's birthday.
The Teaser: First Look at King
The 29 second teaser kicked off with the tagline 'Darr nahi, Dehsat hoon'. It featured scenes of Shah Rukh Khan's character standing amidst some vivid landscapes and also killing the bad guys. The teaser promised a more menacing side of the lead character.
Who's Starring in King?
King marks the official theatrical debut of Shah Rukh Khan's daughter and the Archies star, Suhana Khan. The star studded cast also includes Rani Mukherji, Deepika Padukone, Anil Kapoor, Abhishek Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, Raghav Juyal and Abhay Verma.
What to Expect from King?
Said to be loosely inspired by French director Luc Besson's 1994 film, ''Leon: the Professional", King promises to be a gory and high stakes action thriller. Speaking about his character, Shah Rukh Khan previously said "The character of King is very interesting. Siddharth and Sujoy Ghosh have written it with a lot of love. And it has a lot of evil in it. He's a killer. He kills people".
He also confirmed that his character will share a romantic storyline with Deepika Padukone's character. Speculations also suggest that Suhana Khan will essay the role of his daughter on screen.
