The accident took place during peak morning traffic, and the injured were taken to a nearby hospital. Authorities have started an investigation to find out what caused the crash.

The accident happened at around 8:30 AM on July 4 near K.R. Circle in Bengaluru. According to the Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), an OHM Mobility operated BMTC bus was travelling from Kempegowda Bus Station (KBS) to Attibele when it moved ahead after the traffic signal. At that moment, a Tata Smart Mobility electric bus reportedly crashed into the back of the stationary Vayu Vajra bus, leading to the collision.

BMTC officials said that passengers travelling in the OHM Mobility operated bus were safe and did not suffer any injuries. However, five passengers travelling in the Tata Smart Mobility electric bus sustained minor injuries. The driver of the electric bus was also injured and admitted to the hospital. Officials said his condition is stable. All the injured were shifted to St. Martha’s Hospital for treatment.

What Happened After The Accident?

Soon after the accident, senior BMTC officials and representatives from Tata Smart Mobility reached the spot and supervised the rescue operation. The damaged buses were removed quickly, allowing traffic to return to normal. Transport Minister Byrathi Suresh, Transport Secretary Deepa Cholan, and BMTC Managing Director Raghunandan Murthy later visited St. Martha’s Hospital to check on the condition of the injured passengers and the bus driver.

BMTC has confirmed that an investigation is underway to find out the exact reason behind the crash. The corporation also said it is providing all necessary assistance to the injured passengers and their families while the inquiry continues.
