Megyn Kelly discussed this case in one of her episodes, The Megyn Kelly Show, airing on March 18, where she had a chat with Jonathan Gilliam, an ex-FBI agent. The host also used information from Crime Stories With Nancy Grace, where Nancy Grace interviewed tattoo artist Darren Rosa.

However, despite the disbelief, Gilliam stated that tattoos can still help in the investigation because they are commonly entered into law enforcement records. "Even that small detail," he said. "If someone has been arrested and they have tattoos, those tattoos get recorded. So there could be a database that matches that feature. And someone just has to connect the dots."
