With the 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) only six days away, the jerseys of the eight teams have started coming out. PSL 2017 Champions Peshawar Zalmi's jersey was unveiled on March 20, Thursday and it has been brutally trolled by the netizens on social media platforms for the animation inscribed on the kit.
Babar Azam, who posed with the jersey, was called 'a diva'.
Babar Azam to lead Peshawar Zalmi in PSL 2026
Zalmi, who had won the trophy in 2017 after beating the Quetta Gladiators in the final, seemingly launched their jersey on March 20, Thursday. While the main colour of the kit is yellow, an electric-shock like animation has been inscribed on the jersey at the end of the t-shirt and on the feet. Hence, the fans couldn't help but poke fun at it.
Here's how the fans have reacted to Peshawar Zalmi's jersey:
Peshawar Zalmi finished 5th in PSL 2025
Meanwhile, Zalmi had a season to forget in 2025 as they finished fifth with only four wins in 10 matches, aggregating eight points. Zalmi have made it to the final on three occasions but haven't got to that stage since 2021. Hence, Babar Azam and co. will be determined to do better this time around. Their campaign kickstarts on March 28 against the Rawalpindi Pindiz at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium in Peshawar. Zalmi will be mighty concerned about their captain's form, given his recent returns have been concerning. The former Pakistan skipper didn't play in the National T20 Cup 2026 and fared poorly in the recently-concluded T20 World Cup 2026.
The Lahore-born cricketer managed only 91 runs in six games, averaging only 22.75 as Pakistan's campaign ended in the Super 8 stage. PSL 2026 opens on March 26 when defending champions Lahore Qalandars face newcomers Hyderabad Kings at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
