RCB vs MI, IPL 2026: The Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium in Raipur will stage its first IPL match of the season as the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will host a struggling Mumbai Indians on May 10, Sunday.
Although the Royal Challengers have lost their first two games, they will retain confidence from beating the Mumbai Indians earlier in the competition. With the impact player rule that was introduced in the 2024 edition and changing the face of IPL, it will yet again be in focus on Sunday. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Rasikh Salam Dar and Hardik Pandya could be in focus.
RCB vs MI Impact players for today’s match
3) Rohit Sharma
Rohit Sharma is the first player that will probably be penned as an impact sub, given he is likely yet to fully recover from the hamstring injury sustained earlier in the tournament against RCB at the Wankhede Stadium. The 39-year-old made his comeback in the previous match against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and breathed life into their campaign with a whirlwind 84 that helped the Mumbai Indians gun down 229 comfortably. Having played as an impact player in the previous game, Rohit could yet again don the same role.
2) Hardik Pandya
Dynamic all-rounder Hardik Pandya had missed the previous game against the Super Giants due to back spasm, prompting Suryakumar Yadav to step in as skipper. It is still unclear whether Pandya has made a recovery. If the seam-bowling all-rounder has recovered from the injury enough to at least bat, he could only perform one facet of the game and not bowl.
1) Tim David
Tim David was mysteriously brought as an impact player in the previous game against the Super Giants and made a telling contribution of 40 off 17 deliveries, almost carrying the defending champions to a win. With the Singapore-born cricketer performing the role to perfection, he could yet again be slotted as an impact player.
