The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have finally received a green signal from the Karnataka High Court to host their Indian Premier League 2026 matches at their home ground, the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, after nearly 10 months of uncertainty.
Now, the defending champions are all set to begin their campaign in Bengaluru against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the opening match of the season on March 28. However, fans are eager to book tickets to watch the Virat Kohli-starred match live from the stadium.
The delay and restrictions come after the unfortunate stampede during RCB's victory parade last year on June 4, just a day after the team lifted their maiden IPL title. Following that incident, the government had suspended major events at the venue. However, ahead of the 2026 season, the suspension has now been lifted, but with several new guidelines in place.
These include reduced crowd capacity which is reduced to 28,000 from 35,000 and free metro travel for fans on matchdays to ensure smoother public transport and avoid heavy traffic around the stadium. The nearest metro stations to the stadium are Cubbon Park and MG Road.

To avoid a repeat of last year's tragedy that took the lives of 11 civillians, especially fake ticket circulation which was one of the concerns during the stampede, RCB has also issued a strict warning. The franchise has clearly stated that tickets will only be available through one official platform, and any unauthorized sale will face strict legal and police action.
When will IPL 2026 Tickets go Live?
The exact ticket release date has not been announced yet. However, with only eight days left before the season opener, tickets are expected to go live very soon. Fans are advised to keep checking official updates regularly, as demand is expected to be very high.
