Stock To Watch Today (May 8, 2026): Indian equity markets erased most of their early gains on Thursday, May 7, as profit booking in the final trading hours pushed benchmark indices to end almost unchanged.
Both the BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 opened higher and traded firmly during the first half of the session, supported by optimism over possible easing of tensions between the United States and Iran. However, selling pressure in the later part of the day weakened market sentiment and wiped out most intraday gains.
Despite the flat closing in benchmark indices, broader markets continued to perform strongly. The Nifty Midcap 100 index gained 1%, while the Nifty Smallcap 100 index advanced 0.8%, indicating continued buying interest in mid and small-cap stocks.
