The BSE Sensex surged 789.74 points, or 1.06%, to settle at 75,398.72. The index opened in positive territory and briefly turned negative during late morning trade before recovering strongly through value buying. During the session, the Sensex also touched an intraday high of 75,681.88.
Meanwhile, the Nifty 50 gained 277 points, or 1.18%, to close at 23,689.60, extending its rally for a second straight day. Several stocks are expected to remain in focus during Friday's trading session because of earnings announcements and major corporate developments.
