However, the younger generation will experience a significant shakeup. Showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson confirmed that Carson Rowland, who plays Maddie’s eldest son Ty, will see a significantly reduced presence this season as his character travels, testing his unresolved romantic tension with Annie (Annaliese Judge), who is eyeing college in California.
To populate Maddie’s new urban playground and add fresh tension to Serenity, Netflix has added several key recurring cast members for Season 5.
