Hours before Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's visit to Bathinda district to inaugurate the newly constructed Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) office complex at Talwandi Sabo on Sunday, two station house officers (SHOs) were transferred and sent to the district police lines on Saturday.
Those transferred include Inspector Jaswinder Singh, SHO of the Bathinda Sadar police station, against whom a probe had been initiated after a sarpanch complained of police inaction against drug-related issues during the CM's public meeting in Bathinda last Sunday.
Bathinda Range DIG Harjeet Singh had, at the time, transferred the entire staff of the Kot Shamir police post on the chief minister's verbal directions and ordered a probe against Jaswinder Singh.
Meanwhile, Inspector Harjivan Singh, SHO of Nandgarh police station, was also sent to the district police lines after he allegedly had a dispute with an AAP leader recently. However, senior police officials did not disclose the exact reason behind his transfer.
