The Chandigarh Bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has stayed the allotment of Electricity Pool Houses to other employees of the Engineering Department, Chandigarh Administration.
This interim order was passed on applications filed by employee Divanshu Sharma and others, challenging the orders dated March 27 and March 30.
The applicants argued that the House Allotment Committee allotted houses to staff of other classes of the Engineering Department without considering their claims. They cited the Chandigarh Electricity Reforms Transfer Scheme, 2025, which states that transferred employees’ terms and conditions should not be less favourable.
The Tribunal found a prima facie case in favour of the applicants and directed respondents not to implement the allotment orders till the next hearing on May 8.
Resultantly, as an interim measure, the respondents are directed not to implement the orders of allotment till the next date of hearing. The Tribunal said that the respondents are directed to file detailed reply within a period of four weeks.
