In a move aimed at strengthening international academic and media collaborations, the University Institute of Media Studies (UIMS) at Chandigarh University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Radio Haanji Australia.
The partnership seeks to create opportunities for students in journalism, radio, digital media and global communication through workshops, internships, guest lectures and collaborative media projects.
The MoU was signed by Gautam Kapil, Director and Sydney Head of Radio Haanji, and Prof. Dr. Satbir Singh Sehgal, Registrar and Pro Vice-Chancellor of Chandigarh University, in the presence of university officials and faculty members. Speaking on the occasion, Sehgal said the initiative reflected the vision of Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu to strengthen industry-academia collaboration and expand international exposure for students.
Highlighting the practical benefits of the collaboration, Gagandeep Chauhan, Additional Director, UIMS, said, "This MoU will not only enhance the academic quality and output for UIMS students but will also be a potential resource for the students to do industry-oriented live projects as well." Officials from both institutions expressed confidence that the partnership would help students gain a deeper understanding of the global media landscape while improving practical learning and professional skills.
