Seeking to strengthen bilateral engagement and explore new avenues of cooperation between Haryana and Russia, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini met Denis Alipov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to India, at his official residence, Sant Kabir Kutir, in Chandigarh today.
Positioned to meet the demands of the Russian market, Haryana focused the discussion on expanding exports to Russia. The CM highlighted the state's strengths in IT, automobiles, agro-processing, textiles and manufacturing.
Deliberations centred on facilitating smoother trade flows, addressing logistical challenges, and enhancing market access, while also exploring investment opportunities to support export-led growth.
Both sides also expressed interest in strengthening academic exchanges, student mobility programmes, and institutional partnerships between universities and research centres in Haryana and Russia.
Denis Alipov expressed keen appreciation for Haryana's MSME sector, acknowledging its vital role in driving industrial growth and employment generation in the state.
He emphasised the potential for creating more job opportunities through enhanced cooperation between the two sides.
The Ambassador further commended the state's skilled manpower, noting that Haryana's well-trained and capable workforce could significantly contribute to strengthening economic engagement and supporting future collaborations.
The CM underscored Haryana's growing ecosystem of innovation and startups, inviting Russian institutions and companies to collaborate in these areas.
He also highlighted the role of sports and cultural exchanges in deepening bilateral ties. Both sides agreed that cultural diplomacy and sporting collaborations could serve as effective tools in enhancing goodwill and fostering closer relations.
