Anand Utsav 2026, a two-day cultural festival, came to a close on Friday at Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College (GNDEC) in Gill Park here.
The festival saw vibrant performances and enthusiastic participation from students.
The second day featured a heritage show, solo dance, group dance and folk dance competitions at the college's open air theatre.
Organisers said the students displayed exceptional talent, coordination and pride. Alongside these performances, fine arts competitions, including cartooning, painting, rangoli-making and poster-making, were organised.
The festival included a literary debate competition that encouraged thoughtful expression and intellectual engagement.
The participants also put up an exhibition at the football ground.
Jasleen Bhullar, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Ludhiana East, was the chief guest on the second day.
She said the event reflected the creativity, confidence and cultural richness of the students. Bhullar added that such platforms play an important role in nurturing young talent and encouraging holistic development among the students.
The festival concluded with the prize distribution ceremony.
Sehijpal Singh, principal, GNDEC, congratulated the students for their performances and appreciated the cultural committee for the seamlessly organising the festival.
Iqbal Singh, director, Nankana Sahib Educational Trust, expressed pride in the students' achievements and emphasised the importance of such events in nurturing confidence and creativity among them.
