Delhi Lieutenant Governor (LG) Taranjit Singh Sandhu on Monday chaired a meeting with officials from all departments and agencies concerned to review the Capital's preparedness for the upcoming heatwave, directing that mitigation measures be implemented on the ground within a week.
In a post on X, the LG said that with the onset of summer, all officers had been instructed to ensure effective execution of the action plan. "District Magistrates have been asked to take a lead role in implementation, particularly in safeguarding vulnerable groups, including women, children, the elderly and labourers, through focused heat mitigation measures at public places," he said.
Sandhu also emphasised the need for coordinated efforts across departments, stating that progress will be closely monitored to ensure responsibilities are fulfilled seamlessly.
