Amandeep Medicity, in partnership with Ujala Cygnus, has successfully conducted the implementation of Amritsar's first Navitor transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) system.
The procedure marks a major advancement in the treatment of severe aortic stenosis, offering patients a minimally invasive alternative to conventional open-heart surgery.
The procedure was performed by an Amandeep Medicity team comprising Dr Yadvinder Singh, interventional cardiologist; Dr Pankaj Goel, cardiac surgeon; and Dr Gurpreet Gill, cardiac anaesthetist.
"Successful TAVI programmes are built on a multidisciplinary model. These require seamless collaboration between interventional cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, cardiac anaesthetists, imaging specialists, nursing staff, and allied healthcare professionals. This collective expertise ensures that each patient receives individualised care and the most appropriate treatment strategy," said Dr Yadvinder Singh, director (cardiac sciences) at Amandeep Medicity.
"The successful implantation of Amritsar's first Navitor TAVI valve reflects our commitment to bringing the latest evidence-based technologies to patients in Punjab. This milestone highlights the strength of the heart team model, where specialists from multiple disciplines come together to achieve the best possible outcomes," said Dr Pankaj Goel, director (cardio thoracic and vascular surgery) at Amandeep Medicity.
