The family of Pankaj Malhotra (33), a resident of Jalalabad, is in a state of shock as his whereabouts remain unknown even two days after the Vrindavan boat tragedy.

Malhotra, the sole breadwinner of the family, went missing when the boat he was travelling in capsized on Friday.

He had gone on a pilgrimage to Vrindavan along with his maternal aunt and uncle residents of Jagraon. The tragic incident has claimed the lives of 11 people so far.

A relative, Ashwani Kumar, said that Malhotra supports his entire family, has two younger unmarried sisters, an eight-year-old son, and a three-year-old daughter. "The whole family depends on his earnings," he added.

Another relative, Ram Chand, said that Malhotra was employed with a private steel company.

Despite the grim situation, the family continues to cling to hope. "We are still praying for a miracle and his safe return," the relatives said.
