Snowfall, hailstorm and rain are set to continue across Himachal Pradesh on April 8 as the State's Meteorological Department has issued an orange warning for five districts and yellow weather warning for other five districts of the state.
As per the department, an orange warning has been issued for Shimla, Kullu, Solan, Kangra and Mandi districts for April 8, resulting in heavy thunderstorms, hailstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds in isolated places of these districts.
Also, yellow weather warning has been issued for Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Chamba and Sirmour districts for April 8 as well, resulting in heavy rain, thunderstorms and lighting in isolated places of these districts.
The department has also forecasted continuous precipitation across the state till April 13; however, the intensity of the precipitation is set to decrease from April 9 onwards. During this period, minimum temperature is expected to rise by 3°C to 4°C, while maximum temperatures are expected to rise by 2°C to 6°C across the state.
Meanwhile, light rain continued to occur in many parts of the state in the last 24 hours. Minimum temperatures dropped by 2°C to 3°C, ranging between 0°C to 18°C. Similarly, maximum temperatures across the state also dipped by 2°C to 4°C, ranging between 11°C to 26°C.
Minimum temperature in Shimla was 8°C, Dharamshala 11.2°C, Manali 5.5°C, Una 13.7°C, Mandi 12.1°C, Solan 8.5°C, Bilaspur 14°C, Tabo 1.1°C, Sundernagar 10.1°C, Bhuntar 8°C and Paonta Sahib 18°C. With 26°C maximum temperature, Kangra was the hottest place in the state while Kalpa in Kinnaur district was the coldest as it recorded 0.4°C minimum temperature.
