World Health Day was observed at various institutes of the city with a message of keeping a healthy mind and a healthy body for leading a good life.
Innocent Hearts School celebrated World Health Day across all its five branches at - Green Model Town, Loharan, Noorpur Road, Jandiala Cantt Road and Kapurthala Road. The event was organised by the Sports and Wellness Club with the aim of promoting awareness about health, hygiene and overall well-being among students. A variety of engaging and educational activities were conducted for different classes. For students of Grades I and II, the activity titled "Healthy me, happy me" focussed on the importance of cleanliness, hygiene, and water conservation. Students of Grades III and IV attended an awareness session on nutritious food, guided by the Health and Wellness Club.
For Grade V students, a PowerPoint presentation was shown to highlight the significance of healthy eating habits and maintaining a balanced diet. Students of Grades VI and VII participated in a Fit India Yoga Session, which emphasised on the importance of staying fit, strong and stress-free through a combination of yoga and pranayama.
For Grade VIII students, the Creative Strokes Club and Linguistic Club organised poster making and slogan writing competitions. On the occasion, students expressed their ideas on health and wellness creatively through art and impactful slogans.
Additionally, members of the Innovation Club held a discussion on how lifestyle choices affect students, focusing on stress, screen time, and the importance of a balanced diet. A special assembly was also conducted, where students were encouraged to adopt a responsible and healthy lifestyle.
At Sanskriti KMV School, the tiniest hearts with the brightest smiles came together to celebrate the World Health Day in the pre-primary wing. The celebration began with a special morning assembly, where little ones sang cheerful songs, spoke a few lines and listened to the importance of staying healthy and maintaining cleanliness with curious eyes. Nursery students enthusiastically made colourful collages of fruits and vegetables.
All students brought fresh fruits in their lunch boxes. Teachers explained why fruits were better than junk food and emphasised on how habits like washing hands, brushing teeth and eating a balanced diet help them stay strong and cheerful. Children shared powerful messages like "Eat healthy, stay healthy" and "Invest in your health". Principal Rachna Monga expressed joy at witnessing young learners absorbing vital values with innocence and enthusiasm. She shared that young minds were like soft clay and when the values of health, hygiene and self-care were nurtured early, they blossomed into lifelong habits.
St Soldier Management and Technical Institute, Kapurthala Road, celebrated the World Health Day. On the occasion, students were informed about the importance of good health, hygiene, a balanced diet, fitness and a healthy lifestyle through an informative presentation. During the event, students were guided on how to maintain physical and mental health, which was essential for a successful life. They were also encouraged to adopt healthy habits in their daily routine and spread awareness about health among others. Principal Dr Rohan Sharma motivated students and highlighted the importance of staying healthy in today's fast-paced life. He encouraged everyone to take care of their health and well-being. Group chairman Anil Chopra and vice chairperson Sangeeta Chopra also appreciated efforts of the institute in organising such awareness programme for students.
