WPL 2026 Points Table: Gujarat Giants defeated the Delhi Capitals by 3 runs in match 17 of the ongoing Women's Premier League 2026 at the BCA Stadium in Kotambi on Tuesday, January 28. Sophie Devine produced an incredible effort as she defended nine runs in the final over and took a couple of wickets as well, dismissing Niki Prasad and Sneh Rana.
Gujarat jumped to the second spot in the WPL 2026 points table as they now have four wins and eight points after seven games. They are very close to making it to the WPL knockouts. This was the second time Devine bowled a match-winning last over against the Delhi Capitals this season. Niki and Rana's fightback went in vain as Delhi were restricted to 171/8 in their 20 overs.
Niki was DC's top run-getter with an outstanding knock of 47 runs in 24 balls on the back of nine fours, whereas Rana came up with the crucial contribution of 29 runs in 15 deliveries. Chasing the target, DC never looked in a comfortable position and kept losing wickets at regular intervals. They were reduced to 100/6 when Niki and Sneh joined each other in the middle. The duo kept things alive for their team and stitched a 70-run stand for the seventh wicket. They almost took their team to an impressive victory, but Devine had other plans. The veteran all-rounder picked up four wickets for 37 runs in her four overs, whereas Rajeshwari Gayakwad picked up three scalps.
Earlier, GG posted a challenging total of 174/9 in their 20 overs with the help of Beth Mooney's 58-run knock. On the other hand, Anushka Sharma scored 39 runs in 25 balls.
