The appointment comes days after AIMIM expelled its MLC Mirza Rahmath Baig, who was also an in-charge of Rajendranagar.

In an official announcement, the AIMIM party said Mohammed Mubeen has been appointed as the In-charge of Rajendranagar Assembly constituency. He is authorised to represent and undertake organisational work on behalf of AIMIM in the Rajendranagar Assembly constituency. "All AIMIM office-bearers and members of Rajendranagar constituency are requested to coordinate and communicate with Mohammed Mubeen regarding party organisational activities."

Acknowledging his appointment, Mubeen expressed gratitude to AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi and AIMIM floor leader in Telangana Assembly, Akbaruddin Owaisi, for the same.

"I am deeply honoured by this responsibility and will strive to fulfil the trust placed in me with utmost dedication, sincerity and commitment. I assure our leadership and the people of Rajendranagar that I will work tirelessly for the strengthening of the party and the welfare of the people," said the MLA.

It may be recalled that AIMIM on August 29 expelled its MLC Mirza Rahmath Baig from the party with immediate effect, directing him to resign from the Telangana Legislative Council.

It is learnt that the MLC Mirza Rahmath Baig is not in a mood to submit his resignation. A video has been released by him, in which he rejected the allegations against him. He denied any wrongdoing and alleged the video had been AI generated and circulated to defame him and the party.

He appealed to people not to link AIMIM, party chief Asaduddin Owaisi, or AIMIM floor leader and Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi to the controversy. A police complaint was made, and a case was registered by the police.

With neither the police nor the AIMIM disclosing details of the controversial video, speculation surrounding the matter continued to grow on social media.
