Chennai: Shooting for director Aishwarya Rajinikanth's much-anticipated film 'Texla', starring Malayalam actor Suraj Venjaramudu and Tamil actor Jai in the lead roles, has officially commenced.

Production house Kannan Ravi Groups announced the start of filming through its social media platforms, sharing a video from the sets. Accompanying the video, the makers wrote, "Every frame starts with a belief. Every journey starts with a moment. Today, #Texla takes its first step - Shooting starts!"

The project was formally launched in March this year with a grand pooja ceremony held at Leela Palace in Chennai. The event was attended by the film's cast and crew, along with several notable personalities from the Tamil film industry, including actor-director Seeman and actor Samuthirakani.

The launch posters had revealed that acclaimed Malayalam actor Suraj Venjaramudu and Tamil star Jai would headline the film. According to sources close to the production, Suraj will portray Jai's father in the movie. Actor George Maryan, who received widespread appreciation for his performance in 'Dragon', has also been cast in a significant role.

Before receiving its official title, the film was referred to as KRG Production No. 9. The title 'Texla' was unveiled through a teaser that evoked nostalgia and celebrated the joy of cinema. The teaser depicted a group of underprivileged children eagerly waiting for a film screening in a thatched hut. After initial disappointment due to cloudy weather, the children's excitement returned when sunlight emerged, allowing the projection of the title 'Texla' onto a cloth screen.

The makers have already confirmed that renowned music composer Yuvan Shankar Raja will be scoring the soundtrack for the film.

Earlier, Kannan Ravi Groups announced their collaboration with Aishwarya Rajinikanth, expressing confidence in the power of meaningful partnerships in filmmaking. The production house described the venture as an ambitious project designed as a wholesome entertainer aimed at audiences across different regions.

'Texla' is planned as a grand multilingual release and will hit screens in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. The makers believe the film will offer a compelling cinematic experience while appealing to audiences nationwide.

With production now underway, expectations are high for the film, which marks another significant directorial venture for Aishwarya Rajinikanth and brings together an experienced cast and crew for a pan-Indian release.
