AR/VR workshop strengthens Indo-US collaboration

Amaravati: Advancing India's emerging technology ecosystem, SRM University-AP hosted an AR/VR Innovation Workshop in collaboration with the Indo-US Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF), STEAM Varsity, and the Young Innovators STEM Lab (YISL), with support from the GeeksforGeeks (GfG) Campus Body.

The workshop focused on immersive technologies through a hands-on, project-based learning approach, enabling students to actively explore cutting-edge tools such as AR/VR and WebXR. More than 200 students from schools, colleges, and universities across Amaravati and nearby regions participated in the event. Experts from STEAM Varsity, including Dharam Raj Panwar, Paras Deshmukh, Mohammad Mustafa Ghazi, Devanand, and Shashank Chandel, mentored participants on building AR/VR applications and applying design thinking methodologies to solve real-world problems.

Dr Ashok Kumar Pradhan, Associate Professor and Faculty Convenor, welcomed the participants and highlighted the workshop's role in enhancing technical skills and fostering a startup-oriented mindset. Student Coordinator Mahesh Babu Chittem encouraged students to collaborate and innovate using immersive technologies.

Prof Jayaseelan Murugaiyan, Associate Dean, Vice-Chancellor Prof Ch Satish Kumar and Registrar (i/c) Dr Vinayak Kalluri also spoke.
