Visakhapatnam: Y Balaji Kiran, an Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer of 2013 batch, has assumed additional charge as the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of South Coast Railway (SCoR).
In addition to this responsibility, Balaji Kiran has been serving as Deputy General Manager-cum-Secretary to the General Manager, South Coast Railway, since November 2025. Having vast experience traffic commercial in Indian Railways, he has held several important assignments like senior divisional operations manager, Guntakal division and senior divisional commercial manager at Secunderabad and Hyderabad divisions.
He completed B Tech in Computer Science Engineering from Sri Kalahasteeswara Institute of Technology (SKIT), Srikalahasti and did MBA from Osmania University and a Master's degree in Political Science and Industrial Relations.
A native of Naidupeta in Andhra Pradesh, Balaji is known for his commitment to social service and youth development.
He is the founder of NGO 'Asaya' in Naidupeta and has actively contributed to community welfare initiatives. Before joining Civil Services, he worked as a software engineer in Singapore. He also served as director of Sri Chaitanya IAS Academy, Delhi, where he mentored numerous civil services aspirants.
