Kurnool: In a significant humanitarian initiative, Bengaluru-based social worker Kishore, under the banner of the Support for Society organization, organized a free mega eye care camp for the people of Alur Assembly constituency in collaboration with the L.V. Prasad Eye Institute.
The camp, held at Vasavi Kalyana Mandapam in Alur town, witnessed an overwhelming response from the public and reflected the organizers' commitment to improving rural healthcare.
Hundreds of patients from Alur and surrounding villages attended the camp and underwent comprehensive eye examinations conducted by a team of experienced ophthalmologists and medical staff.
The specialists diagnosed various eye ailments and identified many patients who required cataract and other corrective surgeries.
Speaking on the occasion, Kishore said that serving the people through healthcare initiatives is his way of honoring the memory of his mother and giving back to society.
Speaking to The Hans India on Sunday, Bengaluru-based philanthropist Kishore said that all patients requiring surgical treatment would be provided free eye operations at the L.V. Prasad Hospital in Ballari, Karnataka.
In addition to the surgeries, beneficiaries will receive free transportation assistance, post-operative care, eye drops, prescribed medicines, and spectacles without any cost.
The initiative also includes free food and accommodation facilities for patients undergoing treatment, ensuring that financial constraints do not prevent anyone from receiving quality eye care, said Kishore.
Residents of the Alur constituency expressed their heartfelt appreciation for Kishore's dedication to public service, describing his efforts as an inspiration to society.
They stated that compassionate individuals like him are essential for the welfare of underprivileged communities and wished him good health and strength to continue such noble service for many years to come.
