Visakhapatnam: Marking12 years of governance under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a series of statewide public outreach and service initiatives in Andhra Pradesh from June 5 to 21.

BJP State president PVN Madhav briefed the campaign details, stating that the programmes aim to highlight the Central government's achievements and create public awareness about various welfare schemes.

Addressing the media on Wednesday, Madhav said that the Modi-led government, guided by the principles of 'Seva, Sushasan, Garib Kalyan,' has taken several historic decisions over the past 12 years that have contributed to national development, poverty alleviation, infrastructure expansion and social empowerment. He noted that the campaign would focus on taking these achievements closer to the people through public engagement activities across the state.

As part of it, BJP is organising tree plantation drives, service activities, interactive sessions with intellectuals, media conferences, youth conventions, women's meetings, farmers' forums and development tours as part of the statewide initiative. Special outreach programmes will also be conducted with beneficiaries of Central government welfare schemes to showcase the impact of various developmental and social welfare measures.

Madhav further said that party leaders, elected representatives and grassroots workers would visit all districts in Andhra Pradesh to engage directly with citizens and explain the outcomes of Central Government initiatives. Dedicated meetings are planned with youth, women, farmers and self-help groups to strengthen public awareness about government programmes.

Extending greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Madhav noted that the day marks the completion of the longest tenure served by a Prime Minister in India and described it as a milestone in the country's political history.

As part of the celebrations, the BJP will also launch 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign across the state on June 5, coinciding with 'World Environment Day'.

The BJP State president called upon party leaders, workers and the public to participate in large numbers by planting saplings in every district, constituency and mandal headquarters.

He urged citizens to plant at least one sapling in their mother's name and take responsibility for nurturing it throughout. Schools, colleges, youth groups, voluntary organisations and social service institutions have been invited to join the initiative.

Emphasising the importance of environmental conservation, Madhav stressed that special attention should be given not only to planting saplings but also to ensuring their sustainable growth through regular monitoring.
