Chittoor: Chittoor Member of Parliament Daggumalla Prasada Rao said that Chittoor Railway Station will be developed with high standards in the coming years.
He welcomed the inclusion of the station under South Coast Railway jurisdiction as part of administrative decentralisation.
The MP expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Union Railway Ministry for making the long-pending demand of Andhra Pradesh people a reality. From Monday, the South Coast Railway Zone, with Visakhapatnam as its headquarters, officially came into existence as the country's 18th railway zone.
On the occasion, Prasada Rao visited Chittoor Railway Station and participated in a meeting organised at station premises. He cut a cake and thanked the Central government for establishing the new railway zone. He also appreciated Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Nara Lokesh for their efforts in achieving the railway zone.
Speaking to the media, the MP said that after the coalition government came to power, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu took the initiative to move forward with the implementation of promises made during the state's bifurcation.
According to him, this reflects the commitment of the present government.
Meanwhile, members of Tirupati Balaji Railway Division Sadhana Samiti submitted a memorandum to MP Prasada Rao, seeking support for the creation of Tirupati Balaji Railway Division.
Railway workers and leaders of railway unions also submitted representations highlighting their issues and requested solutions.
Responding positively, the MP assured them that he would discuss the matters with both the Central and State governments and work towards resolving their concerns.
