CM cautions TG leaders against targeting Pawan

Amaravati: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday came out in support of Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan and cautioned Telangana political leaders against making remarks that could create unnecessary friction between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Responding to criticism directed at Pawan Kalyan by some Telangana leaders, Chandrababu said such comments did not reflect a healthy political approach and warned against attempts to provoke tensions between the two Telugu states. "It has been 12 years since bifurcation. We are now two separate states.

Some leaders cannot make provocative statements and try to create animosity between the states," he said while speaking to journalists in Amaravati. The Chief Minister said people were fully aware of the contributions made by leaders and governments to their respective states and described the issues being raised by some Telangana politicians as irrelevant. Drawing comparisons with political practices elsewhere, Chandrababu said that leaders routinely campaign across state boundaries. He pointed out that leaders from different regions, including Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and several national figures, had campaigned in Tamil Nadu during elections.

He also recalled that the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) had declared itself a national party and had attempted to expand its activities into Andhra Pradesh, questioning why objections were now being raised over political engagement across state borders.

Chandrababu stressed that Telugu people today occupy constitutional and public positions in several countries, including the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom, serving in accordance with the laws and constitutions of those nations. "The competition should be in development and public service.

Political leaders must focus on delivering better services to people rather than creating divisions," he said.

The Chief Minister asserted that those who serve the public effectively would ultimately emerge as leaders, irrespective of regional boundaries.
