Hyderabad: Continuing the One Ward Every Day initiative, the Commissioner of the Cyberabad Municipal Corporation on Monday conducted an extensive field inspection in Jagathgirigutta Ward under Chintal Circle of Quthbullapur Zone, accompanied by the Zonal Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, and other top officials.
During the visit, the Commissioner interacted closely with residents, Resident Welfare Associations, and community representatives to assess civic infrastructure and understand local concerns regarding public services.
Residents raised several critical issues related to sanitation, roads, drainage, parks, public amenities, and community infrastructure. In the sanitation sector, citizens sought intensified mosquito-control measures in HMT Colony and swift action against unauthorized garbage dumping along Pipeline Road. They also requested urgent improvements in waste collection, awareness on proper garbage disposal, and clearance of accumulated waste from temple premises.
Road infrastructure concerns included demands for laying and upgrading internal roads in Vambay Colony, Rajiv Gruhakalpa, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Somaiah Nagar, and Jagathgirigutta. Residents also sought the construction of a footpath at Beerappa Nagar, a box culvert in Jagathgirigutta, and improved road connectivity near Pipeline Road. Drainage overflow and water stagnation issues in Somaiah Nagar, Rajiv Gruhakalpa, and Jagathgirigutta were also highlighted during the inspection. Furthermore, citizens requested the strengthening of drinking water facilities through the provision of a storage tank and additional public taps in Vambay Colony.
Residents urged the development of Bathukamma Kunta with fencing and supporting amenities, the creation of parks in RGK Colony and near Venkateshwara Swamy Temple, the installation of open gym facilities, and expansion of community hall infrastructure in Jagathgirigutta. Concerns regarding non-functional streetlights in several localities, including Vambay Colony, Rajiv Gruhakalpa, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, and Jagathgirigutta, were brought to the attention of officials.
Citizens also sought measures to address parking issues, remove encroachments, and improve road safety along Jagathgirigutta Road. The Commissioner directed the Deputy Commissioner and concerned departments to examine all issues raised during the inspection, ensure effective coordination among departments, and take up priority works in a phased manner. The initiative aims at strengthening direct citizen engagement and enabling the administration to address local issues through coordinated governance.
