Collector calls for strengthening Red Cross Society in Asifabad

Kumuram Bheem Asifabad: Collector K. Haritha on Saturday called upon officials to strengthen the Indian Red Cross Society in the district by enrolling a large number of members and expanding its services to remote and inaccessible areas.

She made these remarks while attending a review meeting held at the conference hall of the Integrated Collectorate Complex to discuss membership enrolment and measures for strengthening the Red Cross Society in the district. Additional Collector (Local Bodies) Yuvraj Marmat and Revenue Divisional Officer Lokeshwar Rao also attended the meeting.

Addressing the gathering, the Collector stressed the importance of taking concrete steps to strengthen the society by encouraging people from all sections of society to obtain membership.

She explained the membership fee structure, stating that the fee had been fixed at Rs 25,000 for Patron membership, Rs 12,500 for Vice-Patron membership, Rs 1,000 for Life Member membership and Rs 100 for annual membership.

Haritha directed officials to ensure membership enrolment among Sarpanches, Councillors, public representatives, government officials, industrialists, teachers, employees, members of the Bar Association, members of the Indian Medical Association, Mandal-level officials and other prominent citizens in the district.

She also instructed officials to prepare an action plan to further strengthen the society by encouraging wider public participation and ensuring greater membership enrolment.

The Collector further suggested that the services of the Indian Red Cross Society should be extended effectively to remote and underserved areas of the district.

Officials and members of the Red Cross Society were present during the programme.
