Obuladevaracheruvu: District Collector A Shyam Prasad conducted a surprise inspection of the Tahsildar's office in Obuladevaracheruvu (ODC) mandal on Tuesday, reviewing administrative functioning, service delivery, and compliance with government norms.
During the inspection, the Collector examined various sections of the office, scrutinised records, and reviewed biometric attendance and movement registers of staff.
He directed officials to avoid negligence in duties and ensure that applications received through MeeSeva and other channels are resolved within stipulated timelines. Special focus was laid on land-related issues, including pending mutation cases.
The Collector instructed the Tahsildar to maintain records systematically and ensure prompt delivery of services to the public without delays.
He also reviewed the functioning of the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS) and revenue clinics, directing officials to expedite disposal of pending applications. The Collector assessed the status of applications related to dotted lands and warned against any laxity in resolving land disputes.
He held a separate meeting with Village Revenue Officers (VROs), issuing directions for effective resolution of village-level issues. Revenue staff were also instructed to identify 50 to 100 acres of government land near national highways for potential industrial or public use.
In a review meeting with mandal-level officials, the Collector emphasised improving transparency and quality in government services.
He directed officials to enhance the efficiency of secretariat services and ensure faster and transparent delivery to citizens.
He also reviewed the progress of irrigation works under the Jaladhara-Jalaharathi programme, including feeder channels, boundary trenches, and land clearance activities.
Later, the Collector conducted a surprise inspection of a private medical facility, "Hanuman Medical Store," where an unqualified practitioner was found administering injections and steroids in violation of norms. Acting on his directions, a joint team of revenue and health officials sealed the clinic and registered a case following a formal inspection.
The Collector warned that strict action would be taken against unauthorised medical practices that endanger public health.
